What is an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), previously known as a Periodic Inspection Report, is a comprehensive assessment of the safety of your electrical installation.

During an EICR inspection, our NAPIT registered electricians thoroughly test your electrical circuits, wiring, consumer unit and all fixed electrical equipment. We check for any damage, deterioration, defects or non-compliance with current wiring regulations.

Following the inspection, you'll receive a detailed report identifying any issues and their severity, along with recommendations for any remedial work required.

Landlord Legal Requirements

Since June 2020, it has been a legal requirement for landlords in England to have the electrical installation in their rental properties inspected and tested by a qualified electrician at least every 5 years.

An EICR must be provided to new tenants before they move in, and to existing tenants within 28 days of the inspection. Failure to comply can result in fines of up to £30,000.

WattWorks provides fast turnaround EICR testing for landlords with competitive rates for multiple properties. We can arrange access directly with tenants and provide digital copies of all certificates.
